GREATER THAN ONE

Sample-obsessed electronic ("And Elijah said... and Christ said... DADA"); influences cited/seem to be Throbbing Gristle, Hula, Cabaret Voltaire. Began 1987 and ended 1995 when Lee Newman (right) died of skin cancer.

Michael Wells met Lee Newman at art school in London and they started putting out recordings, formed their label KUNST=KAPITAL, going under a various many different names in order to (according to the Technohead Myspace site) put out as many releases as commercially possible. Eventually escaped London scene to develop Gabber music in Amsterdam. After 1996 faded into electro oblivion.

FAVOURITES: "I Don't Need God" 12" and the "London" album, both on Wax Trax!
